Delrin® - The high-performance acetal resin that global customers trust

DuPont™ Delrin® acetal homopolymer resin is a highly-crystalline engineering thermoplastic that industry leaders specify for high load mechanical applications, such as gears, safety restraints, door systems, conveyor belts, healthcare delivery devices and components across a diverse range of products and industries.

Delrin® acetal (Polyoxymethylene POM) combines low friction and high wear resistance with the stiffness and strength needed in parts designed to replace metal. It provides a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to 120°C), good colorability and good mating with metal and other polymers, as well as dimensional stability in high precision molding.

When compared to acetal copolymer, Delrin® acetal homopolymer offers higher tensile strength, stiffness, and creep resistance, and significantly higher impact resistance, allowing for thinner and lighter part design, shorter molding cycles and the potential for cost reductions.

Authentic Delrin® acetal resin is available from DuPont only and stock shapes (sheets, rods, tubes) of Delrin® through distributors globally.

Crastin® Polybutylene Terephthalate For Industrial Applications

DuPont™ Crastin® polybutylene terephthalate PBT resin is available in over 100 grades for cost-effective high performance across a wide range of industrial applications.

Crastin® PBT offers stiffness, toughness as well as excellent electrical insulation properties and beautiful surface finishes.

Crastin® PBT provides excellent dimensional properties and stability versus moisture (from a molding and performance standpoint) and good heat resistance. These properties make it particularly well-suited for lighting bezels, connectors, electrical components, distribution boxes and fiber optic cable jackets. Crastin® PBT is also available in FDA and EU approved grades for food and cosmetics applications.

When designing with products that require electrical insulation systems (EIS), DuPont™ Crastin® PBT meets the most stringent electrical insulation standards. DuPont offers the industry’s largest portfolio of EIS pre-approved by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) grades and recognized to IEC standards.

A Thermoplastic Elastomer Engineered for Versatile Performance

Hytrel® combines the flexibility of rubber with the strength and processability of thermoplastics.

DuPontTM Hytrel® TPC-ET thermoplastic elastomer is a versatile copolyester. It combines resilience, and heat and chemical resistance with strength and durability.

Parts made with Hytrel® thermoplastic elastomer resin can flex in multiple directions, cycle after cycle, long after rubber would break. A prime example is the Constant Velocity Joint (CVJ) boot, an automotive component that is subject to an average of 150,000 miles of pounding, and a wide range of temperatures.

Hytrel® is an excellent choice when innovative new designs require creation of unique parts with multiple performance characteristics, since it can be processed using many thermoplastic methods. When renewably sourced materials are a priority, DuPont™ Hytrel® RS offers the same performance as Hytrel® while containing 20% to 60% of renewably sourced material from non-food biomass.
